Beaded Bangle Tutorial

Hey guys! The weather is getting warmer and it's time to start showing off those arms again! Well why not spruce up you warm weather outfit with some beautiful bangles? Here's a quick tutorial on how to make your own!


Materials:
16 gage craft wire
Some smaller craft wire that will fit through your fancy bead
Nipper pliers
Round nose pliers
A fancy bead
Something round that us a little bigger than your wrist ( I used a candle jar)



Step one: gather your materials and wrap your 16 gage wire around your round object one full rotation. Then nip it off.



Step two: string your fancy bead and curl your ends in with your round nose pliers.





Step three: return back your 16 gage wire and curl your ends in on one side.
Hook your bead on before closing the loop.





Step four: begin your curl in the second side. Hook other end of bead on then close the loop.
Step five: there you have it!! I like to make multiple bangles and wear them all at once for a layered look, but, one on its own looks extremely delicate and simple. Hope you enjoy!

Wire Wrapped Ring Tutorial

Want to learn how to make a wire wrapped ring out of goodwill finds? Well you in luck! Today I am posting a short tutorial on how to make yourself a beautiful ring for spring!

Materials:

Nipper pliers
Round nose pliers
Needle nose pliers
Craft wire ( the smaller the wire the easier the construction)
Fancy bead
Ring mandrel


Step one: deconstruct your goodwill find with nippers.


Step two: take about two arms length of wire and thread your fancy bead.



Step three: wrap your wire around your mandrel with bead attached. Make sure to wrap the ring a size up from the size you actually wear.


Step four: begin to wrap the wire around your bead. Wrap until you have a few inches left on each side.


Step five: bring your wire through your ring. Wrap through ring three to five times. Remember to pinch down you end so you don't scratch your finger when you finish.




Step six: make sure to slip your ring back on the mandrel to round it back up.


Step seven: pop your ring on and enjoy!!!

I am finally learning the basics of metal smithing. It's actually quite the process. Once I got it down it was pretty easy and now I am hooked! I think these rings are pretty cool because they are very delicate and light! I'll also post some photos of the wire wrapped ring I have been making! And a big thanks to my preschool colleagues who made me feel like I was really doing something important! ;)

Starting Up

This is my first go around at creating something out of nothing. It all started when I was glued to pinterest! Like most people I have always wanted to be successful in whatever I choose to do. It's always been sort of hard because art and design is my above all passion. As many may know financially this is pretty much a shot on the dark! Slowly I am reinventing my own path for my future. I alway thought that things would just happen, that is surely not the case. You have to make things happen! This blog has been created to record my journey of trials and celebrations in pursing my future in jewelry making. I hope you will follow me along for the ride!
